Doing Life with your Adult Children - Post 1
And so we begin... Over the next series of weeks, I'll post some thoughts (and questions) that arise from reading this book. I'll jot down some of the highlights and maybe refer to one of the study questions in the back of the book. Feel free to join me - I'd love to share the journey. You can raise a question, respond to others' comments, or post your own thoughts and reflections. Firstly, I think we should begin with the 'why' - Why did you pick up this book? For me, my sons are 18, 19 and (almost) 21 - and I have realised what a different season this is. I longed for some wisdom from someone who has walked ahead and can look back over his/her shoulder and say 'hey, while your road will be different than mine, here are some tips that I've learned along the way.' So, I reached out to some friends whose kids were of a similar age and asked if anyone knew of a book like that. One of them (Teresa) told me about Jim Burns's book - and so here I am.
